Nothing that was will be

Nothing that was will be
the way it once was
                 Lulu Santos

Not once have felt the breath of death very closely, and as by magic, go to see things that were always in front of our eyes, and not perceive.

Simple things like the dating our lifemate. Why let the routine erase what is most beautiful in a relationship, demonstrate that loves at all times and everywhere. Not bothering to be corny in the middle of the mall or alongside friends. The most important concern is the smile of the loved one.

Why hide what you really are. Not that estampe in the forehead I'm different. But give himself  the right of can be,  with much dignity,  who you are.

Why storing old grudges? They just make life more bitter. Or take courage to settle differences, which are never one-sided, or throw out this insane rage which only serves to corrode what is good and beautiful.

Think about it, life can will end between two heartbeats. And what is going to be is what people will remember you.

Epitaph
I should have loved more
I should have cried more
I should have seen the Sun rising
I should have taken more chances
And even made more mistakes
I should have done what I wanted to do
I should have accepted people the way they are
Everyone knows the happiness
And the pain that there are in their hearts
Chance will protect me
As long I as walk carelessly
Chance will protect me
As long as I walk...
I should have made it easier, worked less
I should have seen the Sun setting
I should have bothered less with smaller issues
I should have died of love
I wish I had accepted life the way it is
Everyone has the happiness and the sadness that come
Chance will protect me
As long I as walk carelessly
Chance will protect me
As long as I walk...
I should have made it easier, worked less
I should have seen the Sun setting

  1. Very wise and poetic words Marta. Life is short and fleeting. Live and love each day as if it is your last!

    Welcome back Marta!

  2. If only we could get this perspective earlier in life... Oh well, life goes on. Love someone today, whether they deserve it or not.

  3. Thank you so much for this reminder, Miss Marta. Losing someone you love is aweful, but cutting yourself from others so you won't feel that hurt is one of the saddest things someone can do.
